Third time's the charm...

I spent a whole lot of Valentine-less Valentine's days. And yet somehow managed to find the love of my life anyway. And the really intriguing part is that finding him was a by-product of discovering myself.

Not that I went on any Big Deal walkabout of self discovery or anything. I just shook myself loose of some long held notions, and there I was. And soon after, there HE was. Some luck, huh?

We are probably not going to make 57+ years together like my Mom & Dad -- got too late a start. But I look forward to seeing how many we do manage to chalk up...and making each one count.

Here's my favorite picture of M&D:

I hope that you love this Valentine's Day -- and that you remember that romantic love is just a tiny part of the love that is out there -- there's all kinds of love to embrace, if you just open yourself up to it. And the more receptive you are to that greater love, the more love will find you.

Love you! <3

Jo -- this is just for you. It's not the post I'm still working on. That one may have to wait until next month when I have more time to do the photos for it.

pearl, YAYAY, new post!

i remember that photo of your mom and dad. I love that photo! You posted it on Gumbo before, right? It's such a wonderful photo that i hope you have it specially framed somewhere in your home. And you look so happy in your wedding photos!

Y'all know i've not a big fan of any obligatory holidays like Valentine's Day, but it's not because i'm unromantic - i just don't feel the need to mark a special day now that i have finally found what i was missing in all those other relationships.

(And i do feel sorry for some men who don't get it quite right and get in trouble.)

But nowadays, (like you pearl, in a good marriage now after a couple of oops), i feel that Brian makes enough days special in the year that feel that i don't need a special day. (Plus i hate shopping myself so i also get off the hook! And going out to dinner on this day was not that satisfactory since restaurants are turning tables pretty fast.)

but for all of y'all who love it! Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

i feel asleep last night at 8 pm and never even checked my computer at all last night. The night before we were out listening to music at the Mandolin Cafe. That's where i have been. Sleeping and listening to music! (I keep meaning to change my blog too. but this 3 day weekend i have a big painting project that's i'm getting ready to start tomorrow in my condo, so i might not get to it!)
