About my feet...

Appropos of nothing, I began taking a picture of my bare (or sandaled) feet on each of our trips. I would feel weirder about it, but my very sane friend Jo does the same thing, so it must be perfectly normal.

I love doorways and passages. This one's on a "private island" in the Caribbean.

Alexandria Monument shot through the window of a moving bus. Fortunately the streets were congested enough that I could actually focus.

Shower tree

These beautiful flowers are best viewed in someone else's yard. (So that someone else has to rake the detritus...)

This tree was particularly beautiful as it is in the parking lot of the Hickam AFB Commissary....well away from my personal landscaping area.

Turnagin fireweed

I love my summer trips to Alaska. Nature says "Hey! We only have a couple of months here, so let's go full out gorgeous!"

Lost Link?

Not that the sheer awe of standing by the Sphinx wouldn't be enough for me, but then as we walked toward the back, I noticed the feet:

FOUR TOES!! Coincidence??? Or new theory fodder (fodder fodder?)

Messiah Gate

It is through this Gate in the Jerusalem wall, that the Messiah will enter the city. I shot this just outside the Garden of Gethsemane. I haven't yet been able to fully articulate what is was like, even with the crush of people, to be in those places. Just can't find the words.

Cheeky capitals

Peeking above the bushes...the top of the Olympeion (Temple of Olympian Zeus)

Outside the Cathedral

Taken near the Plaka in Athens last month.

No words...

Graffiti seen on the way from Jerusalem into Bethlehem...

Green day

Walking through the gardens near the Zappeio in Athens, returning to our hotel from a day at the museum. This is a calming greenspace within the city.

Down to the Bosphorous

From the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul, where we had a lovely, leisurely lunch amidst a breakneck day of sightseeing.

Geometries

The dome in British Columbia's Parliament building. Attending a session of Parliament isn't everyone's idea of a great tourist attraction, but it really was interesting...of course they were debating a very hot labor issue so that helped amp up the excitement factor by about 100%.

Ellis Island

A museum with a soul-stirring kick...what people went (and still go) through to get what I was simply born with.

Not your usual Manhattan shot...

See the Lady in the distance (hint...far right)

Sun don't have to shine...

Some folks think that the best photos require the best weather. Sometimes the rainy gray days are even better. Seize the moment!

Layers and textures

I loved this picture. We're on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland and had stopped at a local pub for a pint (or two) before heading up to Ardmorn for the night.

Some days are just created perfect

This was one of them...casually motoring on the Firth of Clyde. No agenda, no purpose. Just family and friends together, enjoying the moments one by one.

I love museums!!

I love them as much for the architecture as for the contents, sometimes.

Remembrance

We took some friends from Oz to Pearl Harbor. Must be my 15th trip there, but it's always worth it. The weather was spectacular and I went looking for some new camera angles. This one felt particularly good.
